Community marks next chapter of Blacktown’s city centre

Hundreds of locals came together at the Village Green to celebrate the next chapter of Blacktown Quarter, marking an exciting milestone for Blacktown’s new city centre.

The Community Kick-Off event gave residents, workers and local businesses a chance to meet the Walker team delivering the project, view the latest plans and learn more about what’s ahead.

Guests enjoyed food, family-friendly activities and a football challenge with players from Blacktown City FC, alongside conversations about the future of the city centre.

Blacktown Quarter is being delivered by Walker in partnership with Blacktown City Council and will transform the city centre into a more connected, walkable and vibrant destination, with new public spaces, improved links and a mix of retail, commercial and community uses. Early works are now underway, with more updates to be shared as the project progresses.
